TAKE OUR DAUGHTERS TO THE POLLS CAMPAIGN HOLDS EVENT FOR GIRLS AT ALICE’S TEA CUP IN NYC

Co-creators of “Take our Daughters to Work Day” encourage civic participation of girls throughout the country 

In this historic year for women’s political leadership, the co-creators of Take our Daughters to Work Day have launched a national campaign to encourage political participation among girls, entitled Take our Daughters to the Polls.  The national campaign, an initiative of The White House Project and the Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day Foundation, aims to have thousands of voters across the country pledge to take their daughters and other important girls in their lives to the polls on Election Day. 

On Wednesday, October 29th, the national Take our Daughters to the Polls campaign will hold a tea-and-cookies event to inspire young girls at the family-friendly Alice’s Tea Cup in New York City. 

WHO:  Daughters, granddaughters, nieces, younger siblings, students, and the supportive adults in their lives. 

WHAT:  Fun-filled event at Alice’s Tea Cup, which will feature face painting, button-making, and other assorted goodies for our country’s next generation of leaders. Girls will also have the opportunity to win a 2008 President Barbie signed by New York Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke.   

WHERE:  Alice’s Tea Cup, 156 East 64th Street, The Looking Glass Room
